Tonight saw the first game for our Under 13 side. Thank you very much to J.O Ltd for their sponsorship this season.
The game took place at the beautiful Langtons ground. A lovely setting for our first 11 a side game in a couple of seasons.
Weldon won the toss and chose to bowl. A couple of early wickets slowed the scoring after it looked like the home side would race away. Despite this being the first game of the season the fielding was great from all the side we limited them to 89 for 4.
Weldon went out to bat full of confidence and a good stand between Taylor and Tommy looked to get us in the game but the loss of two quick wickets turned the game. Kit and Ava batted really well in the middle but the run rate required was just too high and Weldon finished on 59 for 8.
It was a good start to the season with this the first time these players had played 11 a side cricket and I am looking forward to seeing more improvements in our next game.
